4 Medals for Leighs Construction at the 2018 Commercial Projects Awards 21 May 2018

Leighs Construction confirmed its position as one of New Zealand’s leading commercial construction companies, winning gold, silver and bronze medals at the 2018 New Zealand Commercial Project Awards.

Leighs Construction Managing Director, Anthony Leighs, says the awards are testament to the passion and professionalism of Leighs people. “The Awards are an opportunity for us to celebrate the people behind these iconic buildings. Our people don’t just build buildings, they create functional, beautiful and resilient facilities and resources for New Zealand communities.”

Leighs Construction was awarded Gold in the Commercial Projects Category in recognition of its work on the ANZ Centre in Christchurch’s CBD. The project was described as “an impressive example of modern architecture.”

ChristchurchNZ’s new offices in the BNZ Centre attracted the silver medal for Leighs Construction in the Commercial Fit out Category. The fit out “maximises ChristchurchNZ’s connection to the city and has helped bring the previously separate entities [Christchurch and Canterbury Tourism, Canterbury Development Corporation and the Council’s major events team] together; proving a highly effective facilitator for ChristchurchNZ’s direction and purpose.”

Leighs Construction took a further two awards in the Tourism and Leisure Category – the silver medal for its Mars Airbridge project at Christchurch International Airport and bronze for its Speight’s Ale House Tour in Dunedin.
